Trying to take full advantage of my mother’s visit and the post is about a recipe from a small region in Karnataka called ‘Malnad’ or ‘Malenaadu. If you ever remember the serial that we all Indians grew up with..’Malgudi Days’ , yes it was shot in the Malnad region of Aagumbe. The typical weather is cool and rainy sometimes raining for days. Also the food is spicy and I mean real spicy.
This is a recipe we were grown with and is made 2 ways using red chillies or green chillies. This is a very good combination with fresh rice and is tangy and spicy.Green chillies balance the tartness of the lemon. The number of lemons used depends on the lemon . More the sour the lemons are , less juice is used.
