Time to detox post diwali with this beautiful and tasty smoothie bowl !!
Smoothie bowls are a rage with so many combinations of fruits and even with veggies and green leaves. It makes sense that you get to eat a variety. For making these smoothie bowls , the fruits have to be frozen and that is where you get a thick purée from. And this has to be consumed almost instantly otherwise the ice from freezing the fruit will melt and end up drinking than eating the bowl. There are endless combinations you can make and also vegan too by replacing milk with almond , soy, coconut or rice milk. This is one that i made using things that were available but feel free to try a whole lot of different permutations and combinations.
Things that you can add as toppings are many , but a few I can think of
- chia seeds
- rolled oats
- coconut flakes
- pomegranate seeds
- chopped mangoes
- coco nibs
- grated dark chocolate
- almonds slices
- roasted pecans
- pista chopped
- figs chopped
- cashewnuts
- roasted peanuts
- acai berries
- strawberries chopped
- blackberries
- blueberries
ingredients
makes one smoothie bowl
1 cup frozen mixed berries , pomegranate seeds
1 dried and soaked fig , chopped
1/4 th cup milk (use soy,almond or rice milk too )
toppings
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon rolled oats
1 -2 tablespoons pomegranate seeds
few coconut slices dried
drizzle of honey 🍯
Method
- in a blender, add frozen berries , chopped fig and milk.
- blend until the mix is smooth and thick.
- over blending will result in a soupy mess.
- transfer the puree into a bowl .
- now add the toppings one by one .
- enjoy it right away !!
