For those days when you want to indulge but , in a healthy way !
This is my no brainer recipe. No idea why I took so long to share this ? This is my favourite pudding or mousse whatever you would like to call. It’s so easy and nutritionally quite dense !! The PB , avocado and Nutella go so well together , looks like they have dated for eternity .. 😃. It hardly takes 10 mins to whip this up and can be refrigerated or dug in to right away. The ingredients are commonly used at home when you have kids around , I mean like me around :-; Two things to this , one the avocado has to be super ripe and while blending the ingredients, just whip until it’s all smooth. Over whipping will tend to ooze out the oil from the peanut butter and you will end up with a pudding with oil floating on the top. If you are not very confident, then blend avocado and milk first until smooth and add the Nutella and PB later. Blend until just mixed well and voila …. super decadent mousse. The flavour of avocado is so mild that it can pass off without being noticed. I have made this mousse with just dark chocolate and avocado . It tastes equally good .
Avocados boasts of a list of goodness in them. It tastes great in salads, dips, pastas and of course with chocolate and cake too. Because of it creamy texture it blends well with lots of ingredients and also adds moisture. Previously I have even tried using avocados in cake (which I have posted) and they add a richness to it without the extra added fat.
100 gms of Avocado has –
- 28% of fibers
- 13% of potassium
- 15% of Vitamin B6
- 16% of Vitamin C
- 10% of saturated fats * ( source Wikipedia)
and so on …
The next time you see Avocados on the store shelves, go on grab it and try exciting recipes with a dash of goodness !!
1 ripe Avocado
3 tablespoons Nutella
2 tablespoons Peanut Butter
1/4 th cup Milk
* No added sugar since Nutella has added sugar
- Skin the avocado, remove the seed and add it to a blender.
- add Nutella, PB and milk.
- whip it up till creamy.
- Just for about 2-3 mins.
- over whipping will release the oils from PB.
- That easy ….,.. transfer to shot glasses and refrigerate for 30 mins.
- can be made a day in advance.
